Music Award 2008 are underway....

The Red Stripe Music Award regional showcases are now underway.

The largest and most credible grass-roots music prize of this year kicked off on 10th January, with a cracking line up at Night and Day Cafe in Manchester. 

However it doesn't end there, this month will see the gig series spread the length and breadth of the country covering many areas of London, Manchester, Wales and even hitting the far reaches of Cornwall.

With over 54 venues taking part this year (double the amount from 2007) the chance to play a slot are even better for the scores of bands applying online at redstripe.net. Emerging artists have recognised the RSMA as a great opportunity to be seen by the right people in the best venues.   The coveted prize of two festival slots and a tour van to keep is a practical support system to help propel them to the top, and so the standard applicants this year are certainly on the rise.
