WA1 Bar, Warrington

- 10/03/08

One of Warrington’s renowned music venues, the WA1 Bar was next on the map to host the Red Stripe Music Awards regional heats, and what a night! ...

After a gruelling selection 4 bands were invited to fight it out for a place in the fast approaching final.

The night kicked off with the energetic Chimneys, a four piece band from Widnes with an equally energetic following. First up is never easy but these 4 guys made it look just that as the crowd jumped around with enthusiasm to their indie guitar sounds.

After a strong start it was all eyes on the next band who didn’t fail to please. The Forge rocked the crowd with their thumping guitars and strong vocals. These local boys certainly got fans Dancing Into the Night with their catchy beats and melodic tunes.

It was then onto something totally different. Out came the keyboards as Joyce, the indie electro band from Manchester entertained with their fun and catchy lyrics – a real crowd pleaser and a free CD sampler for all.

Z List Tears were last on the bill and were by no means least. This alternative rock band with great stage presence and confidence are another local favourite who kept the crowd right to the end with their inspiring riffs and punchy vocals.

An amazing night had by all with something for everyone from these 4 great bands!
