Valentine's night certainly had the bands playing at the Half Moon in a romantic state of mind, with 3 out of 4 bands putting a love song into their sets. A regular at the pub, The Genies kicked off the night, the venue quiet due to the special day but this did not deter the band from putting on a great set, foot tapping, sing along tunes that put everyone in the right mood. Conil came on next and brought a certain elegance to the evening, with their suits and double bass it was all very grown up. 50ft woman are an ecclectic mix of band members, an emo, a rasta, a heavy meteller, a rocker and well, a 50ft woman. The Vibrants headlined and were great, the front man is a real crowd pleaser and the had the type of songs you can imagine singing along to on the radio. Great venue too, not to mention the champers and chocolate fondue laid on for the laydeez!

No doubt about it The Vibrants are the best UK band by far. We wish them well on their tour starting off in Los Angeles.

The Genies were fab but my favourite performance (as always) was the fantabulous 50ft Woman. Soho Sophisticated is my favourite song, but I think Ice Cream Man is coming up fast behind (oo-er missus).
